The Good
The feeling of feeling bad when you’re goofing off and not being productive is a sign that you should be doing the things you’re currently procrastinating on. Most of the times we feel bad because we know we are not reaching our true potential.
So, It’s important for you to understand that it’s completely okay to feel bad when you’re being unproductive and not doing the things that you absolutely need to do.

The Bad
The bad side of this feeling comes when you know you should be relaxing and giving your body some rest but you don’t. This feeling of guilt is necessary but sometimes it can takeover your life and make you feel as if you’re a lazy piece of shit whereas in reality you’re not.
There is a difference between being unproductive and taking rest. Most of the times we think that taking a rest or a vacation is unproductive whereas in reality it’s actually Productive.
Open your ears and hear this if no one told you this before. Sleeping is productive. Goofing off with your friends is productive. Spending time with your friends is productive. And working on your job and yourself is productive too.
The truth is we only measure productivity in terms of work done whereas in reality productivity is much more than that. To measure real productivity you need to measure if against your efficiency, energy, physical health and mental peace.
So, Stop obsessing about being productive and start optimizing your life to balance work with fun. Because fun is not only necessary but also productive.
