How To Start Writing Again After You missed For a Whole Month
In the month of July, I had my final semesters. Because of which I stopped making content for a whole month.
No Medium articles, no Youtube videos, no Twitter Threads.
I only focused on my semester exams because I had to pass it any way I can. But after the exams were over. I wanted to start creating content again but for the last few days I have been facing resistance.
I have been procrastinating on writing on Medium. Making Youtube videos and everything. Because of which I had also started engaging in negative self-talk.
And that’s when I realized the strongest Law of Newton was against me.
The Law of Inertia
I guess everyone had came across the laws of Newton and kind of secretly despised him for making these laws. We all wanted the apple not to have fallen over his head. By the way, Jokes apart. The Law of Inertia states that
If a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force.
And this law is not only crucial for Physics but also self-improvement.
When for a long period of time, you have not done any kind of good habits. It’s difficult to get started with it.
Whereas if you have been doing the good habits for long enough, you’re more likely to be consistent at it without fail.
And when I realised it. You know what I did? I knew I needed some external force. So, I went and watched some inspirational youtube videos. And that acted like the external force.
I know many people think that, you don’t need motivation, bla bla and all that stuff. But when you have not been doing the right habits long enough. You need an external force to force you to start making progress.
And motivational youtube videos acts as that external force.
So, It’s my message to anyone who has missed their good habits like exercising, meditation, writing online, content creation, reading. No matter what that maybe.
If you have missed the good habits, just know that it’s going to be hard to start them again. You’re going to face resistance. And that’s okay. Just look for an external force. It can be a youtube video, it can be a friend, it can be your WHY. It can be anything.
But just don’t let yourself stop doing the good habits because you have not done them for long enough. The good habits you’re cultivating, they are for a liftime.
You’re not into exrcising for a body transformation, body transformation is a by product of exercising regularly and coming back to it even if you missed a month or a year.
Just keep this mindset that good habits are for a lifetime. And you’ll become a consistency monster.
